Rockville Centre Fire Department Holding Blood Drive Today

Everyone who donates at the drive will receive free Mets tickets.

The Rockville Centre Fire Department is holding a blood drive today, and anyone who is able is encouraged to come and donate.

The drive, being held in memory of Thomas FP Cooleen, is being held in the fire department headquarters at 103 Maple Ave. from 2 to 8 p.m.

Everyone who donates blood will receive free Mets tickets.

In order to donate, you must:

  • Bring a valid ID with a signature or photo, or a blood donor ID card.
  • Weigh at least 110 pounds.
  • Be between 16 and 75 years old. 16-year-olds need a parent's permission, and those over 75 need a doctor's note.
  • Eat well and drink fluids before donating.
  • Not have received any tattoos in the last 12 months.
