Rockville Centre Hosting 4th Battalion Parade This Weekend
The parade honors firefighters in the area, but will cause road closures on Saturday.
Rockville Centre will be hosting the annual 4th Battalion Parade of fire departments this year, and the parade is set for this Saturday, June 23.
The parade will step off at 6 p.m. from Parking Field 2 on Washington Street and marching east, then south on North Village Avenue, east on Front Street, north on North Village Avenue, east on Maple Avenue, north on Long Beach Road, and then south on Oceanside Road, ending at the John A. Anderson Recreation Center.
Because of the parade, there will be many closures along the route from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Oceanside Road will be closed north of Sunrise Highway for an extended time. There will be parking restrictions along the parade route as well. Parking fields 2, 12, 21 and 22 will also be closed throughout the day, with fields 2 and 12 closed all day.
