Rockville Centre resident leads as Chip

Emily Hughes, a Rockville Centre resident and junior at Sacred Heart Academy, will star as Chip in the school’s production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Emily’s acting credits include Sacred Heart’s productions of Annie (2015) and Oliver (2016). As a member of the Science Honor Society, the Science Olympiad team and the Science Research program at Sacred Heart Academy, Emily has participated in prestigious competitions and enjoys exploring hydrogeology, microbes, minerals and rocks. She says, “Through Sacred Heart’s teachers, classes, peers and clubs, I have been able to find my strengths and excel in them. There are so many opportunities to shine through and become a leader.” Her academic schedule this year includes AP Language and Composition as well as honors classes in Spanish, Physics and Art. In addition, Emily is a member of the Italian Club, Key Club, Math Team and writes for the school newspaper, The Cordette.

Emily Hughes ’18 and Jessica Toscano ’19 will play the role of Chip on alternate dates.
