Rockville Centre resident stars in Beauty and the Beast

Olivia Duffy, a Rockville Centre resident and junior at Sacred Heart Academy, will star as the Wardrobe in the school’s production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Olivia is a prominent participant in the arts at Sacred Heart Academy where she started an a cappella group and is a member of the chorus and the exclusive chamber chorus. Since her freshman year, Olivia’s performances in the Sister Virginia Crowley Theatre have included Annie, Oliver and several seasonal concerts. Outside of Sacred Heart, she has received dance instruction for ballet and jazz for 10 years and is a member of the junior and senior girls’ choir at the Parish of St. Agnes where she is also an altar server and psalmist. Olivia is dedicated to serving others and most enjoys volunteering in nursing homes and soup kitchens. She looks forward to joining Sacred Heart Academy’s Habitat for Humanity group in her senior year. Olivia’s academic schedule this year is rigorous and fulfilling and includes AP Language and Composition, as well as honors classes in Advanced Music Theory, Physics, Pre-Calculus and Spanish. Olivia is a member of the Math and Science Honors Societies. She is dreaming of attending Notre Dame University and double majoring in Biological Sciences and Spanish; her career goal is to become a pediatric surgeon.

Olivia is looking forward to playing the Wardrobe in Beauty and the Beast and says, “I have always loved to act and sing. Performing in a classic like Beauty and the Beast allows the show to come to life. Our cast is incredibly talented, the set is amazing and the music is enchanting – children in the audience will love seeing their Disney favorite on stage at Sacred Heart!”

Olivia Duffy ’19 and Helena Gunther ’19 will play the part of the Wardrobe on alternate dates.
