Voters Easily Approve Rockville Centre School Budget, Incumbent Re-Elected to BOE

Rockville Centre residents headed to the polls Tuesday.

Rockville Centre residents approved a 2016-17 school budget on Tuesday.

The $109.4 million budget was approved by a margin of 1,709 to 633. The budget is a 2.25 percent spending increase over the current year and represents a 0.85 percent hike in the school tax levy.

Voters also elected John O'Shea to the Rockville Centre Board of Education for a three-year term. He ran unopposed, receiving a total of 1,900.
