Rockville Centre St. Patrick's Parade Set For Saturday
Here's what you need to know about this ongoing village tradition.

Get ready to paint the village green, because Rockville Centre's annual St. Patrick's Parade is set for this Saturday, March 23.
The parade, now in its 23rd year, will step off at noon from the corner of North Long Beach Road and Maple Avenue. The parade will march west down Maple Avenue, make a right onto North Park Avenue, and then a left to march down College Place and Quealy Place. The parade route ends just past St. Agnes Cathedral, on North Village Avenue.
This year, the parade will be led by Grand Marshal Dr. Drew Bogner, the president of Molloy College.

Each year, the parade, known as "The Parade that Cares and Shares," donates money it raises throughout the year to three charities: a local charity, a national charity and an Irish charity.
This year's local charity is The Opening Word, a literacy, language and job-readiness program for Long Island adults. The national charity is The HEARTest Yard, which provides many services for the families of babies affected by congenital heart disease. And the Irish charity is The New York Irish Center, an Irish community center based in Long Island City.
