Rockville Centre Veteran Honored for Dedication to the Community
Nassau County recognized Kenneth Cadieux as one of the area's best.

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano and the Nassau County Veterans Service Agency (VSA) honored our nations’ veterans and presented Distinguished Service Awards to five local veterans for their continued work in the community. Kenneth Cadieux of Rockville Centre was presented with the Distinguished Veteran Service Award at the ceremony on Aug. 6 in Eisenhower Park.
Cadieux is a Korean War Veteran who served in the U.S. Army, 955th Artillery Battalion, from 1950-52. He is regarded as a tremendous role model to our veteran community as he has been working tirelessly for veterans for more than 50 years at many levels. Cadieux coordinates the collection and distribution of clothes throughout Nassau County for donation to veterans in need. He has also volunteered his time repairing wheelchairs and scooters for disabled veterans.
“On behalf of Nassau County’s 1.3 million residents, I thank Kenneth Cadieux and all of our veterans for their service and dedication to our nation," Mangano said. "We salute Kenneth for his continued selflessness and volunteerism in working to serve veterans in need of assistance.”
