Rockville Centre's Biannual Spring Hydrant Flushing Resumes In April

The week-long flushing could cause a drop in water pressure or discoloration.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — The annual spring hydrant flushing is coming soon to the village. The Water Department will conduct the routine maintenance from Wednesday, April 19 to Tuesday, April 25.

It is done to ensure the performance of fire hydrants for firefighting purposes, and water quality for residents and businesses in Rockville Centre.

During the flushing, customers may notice a slight drop in water pressure or temporary discoloration. The water is safe to drink, although running the cold water will clear any discoloration.
