Without their two biggest scorers due to a school function, the RVC Spartans Ice Hockey team totally dominated the game against the Wantagh/Seaford team 12-2,Friday night at the Newbridge Arena. Goals by 9 different players goes to show how well balanced the team is. With support from the defense Brain Albertsen and Shaun Hurwtiz allowed only 2 goals for the second straight game. The Spartans scored 2 of their goals short handed. The first period ended with the Spartans wining 3-1,it was the second period that the wheels came off for the Wantagh/Seaford Team. The Spartans scored 6 unanswered goals in the second. It was at that point that the league rule kicked in that any team that is leading by 8-1 in the second automatically keeps the clock running. It couldn’t have ended fast enough for Wantagh/Seaford,even after the Spartan coaching staff told their players to make 2 passes before any player shoots. 3 more goals were scored and the game ended 12-2. Next week the Spartan’s face a tougher opponent in the game vs Cold Spring Harbor at the Long Beach Arena.
