This week, RVC Patch is highlighting Whiz Kid Sean Moran.
- Name: Sean Moran
- School:
- Grade: Fifth
- Fun Facts: Moran not only excels at spelling, but also plays on RVC’s Little League team and recently earned a ribbon in the recreation center’s pie-eating contest.
- Key Accomplishment: He showed off his smarts by competing in the semifinals of Long Island’s annual Scripps Howard News Service Spelling Bee. Moran was up against a group of 97 of Long Island’s top students from fourth through eighth grade. The students, who took a timed, written spelling test, were selected from public, private and religious day schools across Nassau and Suffolk Counties. “The achievements of these students highlight the excellence of Long Island’s schools and the dedication of New York’s best teachers,” said Jerry Lippman of Long Island Jewish World, one of the contest’s sponsors.
