School Board To Hold Community Meeting For Superintendent Search
The Rockville Centre Board of Education is scheduling the event for Nov. 8 at South Side High School.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — The Rockville Centre Board of Education will hold a school meeting next week for the latest on its search for a new superintendent of schools.
The Nov. 8 meeting is open to the community at the South Side High School auditorium.
At the gathering, the public will get the opportunity to meet with search consultants who are assisting in the process.

They will describe the steps involved and the expected timetable for completing the search, the board said in an open letter on its website.
Members of the school district will be asked what are the main challenges the next superintendent faces and what prior experiences and professional qualities are most important?

The meeting is scheduled from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Robert Bartels is the acting Rockville Centre superintendent of schools. Dr. June Chang announced his resignation in August.
