Search On For Missing Hempstead 12-Year-Old: Police

Police say the girl was last seen Saturday afternoon.

HEMPSTEAD, NY. — A 12-year-old girl is missing in Hempstead this week after police said she was reported missing Sunday night at 9 p.m.

Nassau County police said 12-year-old Brittany Chavarria-Hernandez was last seen walking from her Hempstead home Saturday. Police described Chavarria-Hernandez as a Hispanic girl with red hair and brown eyes, standing 5-feet, 2-inches, weighing 110 lbs. Police said she was last seen wearing a black jacket and black Crocs, and that she was possibly headed for New York City.

Police have encouraged anyone with information on Chavarria-Hernandez’s whereabouts to contact the missing persons squad at 516-573-7347 or call 911.
