With Spread Of New Variant, COVID-19 Boosters For Residents

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — With at least 10 known cases of the omicron variant in New York, health officials say the best defense is being fully vaccinated.

The Town of Hempstead and Mount Sinai South Nassau is offering free COVID-19 booster shots for residents.

The "Vaxmobile" is being provided on Thursday and Friday at the Mount Sinai South Nassau annex at 519 Merrick Rd. in Rockville Centre.

On Thursday, shots will be available from 11 a.m to 1 p.m., while on Friday, boosters will be given from 10 a.m. to noon.

Appointments should be scheduled by calling the hospital: 516-377-5333 or filling out the online form.

Original vaccination cards must be shown to receive the boosters. No copies or photos will be accepted.
