Teenager, Dog Rescued From Burning Nassau Home: Police

First responders were met with a home that was partially engulfed by flames, police say.

LAKEVIEW, NY — A teenager and dog were saved from a burning home in Lakeview on Saturday morning, Nassau police said.

Officers and firefighters responded to a Melvin Avenue home that was partially engulfed by flames around 9:50 a.m. Saturday, police said. Officers rescued a teenager who was still inside with the family dog, police said. The Lakeview Fire Department extinguished the flames.

No injuries were reported, police said. The Red Cross is helping relocate the three residents of the home.
