Third Teen Charged in Hempstead Lake State Park Machete Attack

A third teenager has been arrested and charged in the machete attack that took place in Hemsptead Lake State Park in May.

Newsday reports that Cesar David Avila-Rodriguez, 17, a suspected MS-13 gang member, was charged with three counts of second degree attempted murder, three counts of second degree assault and two counts of fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Avila-Rodriguez was allegedly one of three teens who attacked four others with a machete in Hempstead Lake State Park in May. Three of the four were stabbed. All four were students at Hempstead High School.
