Three Arrested In Vicious Nassau Bowling Alley Assault

Police say the trio punched and kicked their four victims, and one of them slashed two people in the face.

Nassau police arrested three men in connect with an assault that happened at a Baldwin bowling alley early in the morning on Monday.

According to police, the three men got into a fight with four others at the Baldwin Bowling Center, located at 2407 Grand Ave. Police say they were Pedro Mendez-Ramos, 24, of School Street, Baldwin; Brian Gonzalez-Valdez, 20, of Prospect Street, Baldwin; and Christopher Abreu, 21, of Matthew Drive, Amityville.

They assaulted their four victims by punching and kicking them, police say. Mendez-Ramos pulled out an unknown object, according to police, and slashed a 23-year-old man on the left side of his face and slashed a 20-year-old man in the neck, causing deep cuts to both men. A third man, 22, had a cut and swelling to his left eye, and an 18-year-old woman had pain on the right side of her head.

Police investigated and arrested Gonzalez-Valdez on May 7 at 6:36 a.m. Abreu was arrested on May 8 at 6:20 p.m., and Mendez-Ramos was arrested on May 9 at 12:20 a.m.

Gonzalez-Valdez is charged with two counts of first-degree gang assault and two counts of third-degree assault. Abreu was charged with third-degree assault. Mendez-Ramos was charged with two counts of first-degree assault, first-degree gang assault, criminal possession of a weapon, tampering with a witness and two counts of third-degree assault.
