Town Of Hempstead Hosts Juneteenth Celebration

The June 18 event includes a processional and other activities.

HEMPSTEAD, NY — The Town of Hempstead is celebrating Juneteenth with a "Freedom Day." It is scheduled for Sat., June 18 at Town Hall.

The noon program in the plaza features activities for children and storytelling.

Those in attendance will also get to watch the raising of a Juneteenth flag.

It starts with a grand processional at 11:30 a.m.
