Two-Alarm Fire Displaces Six In Uniondale, Fire Marshal Says
The Nassau County Fire Marshal says the fire was on all floors of the home and in its attic.
UNIONDALE, NY — Six people are out of their Park Avenue home Monday after a two-alarm fire drew about 90 firefighters from nine departments to the scene of the blaze, the fire marshal said.
The Nassau County Fire Marshal’s office said the fire was called in at 5:41 p.m. Friday, with the Uniondale Fire Department first on the scene. Mutual aid came from East Meadow, Freeport, Hempstead, North Bellmore, Roosevelt, South Hempstead, Westbury and West Hempstead departments, fire officials said, bringing the total firefighting presence to about 90 firefighters.
The fire was brought under control in about 90 minutes, fire officials said, with no injuries reported. Four adults and two teens were displaced and the NCFM is investigating the cause of the fire in conjunction with the NCPD arson bomb squad, fire officials said.
