Two Nassau Men Arrested On Weapon Charges During Routine Traffic Stop
BREAKING: The driver consented to a search of the car after police said they smelled marijuana.

Two men were arrested early Saturday morning on weapons charges after a routine traffic stop in Baldwin, police said.
According to detectives, police officers pulled over a car for a routine traffic stop at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Linden Avenue at 3:59 a.m. During the stop, officers said they smelled marijuana. The driver, Antwon Allen, 30, of East Roosevelt Avenue, Roosevelt, gave police permission to search the car.
During the search, police say that a loaded black handgun was found under the passenger seat, occupied by Michael McHenry, 30, of East Fulton Street, Long Beach. The two were placed under arrest without incident.

After the stop, police contacted the owner of the vehicle, who told detectives that the two did not have permission to use the car.
Allen and Mchenry were both charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Allen was additionally charged with third-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle. They are scheduled to be arraigned on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
