Two Teens Arrested with Handgun: Police

BREAKING: Police made the arrest during a routine traffic stop.

Two teens were arrested after a routine traffic stop in Rockville Centre Wednesday night after police say they found a handgun in the car.

According to detectives, upon stopping a vehicle for a traffic violation on Merrick Road, Rockville Centre, at 10:15 p.m., police officers found the driver, Kahmani Headley, 16, of West Mineola Avenue, Valley Stream, and passenger Dandre Dogostiano, 17, of South Forest Avenue, Rockville Centre, to be in possession of a loaded handgun. The two were placed under arrest at the scene.

Both teens are each being charged with second and third degree criminal possession of weapon. Headley is additionally being charged with vehicle and traffic law violations -- unlicensed 0perator and fail to obey traffic device. Both were arraigned on Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.
