In John Hughes' 1980s classic, "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" Matthew Broderick plays the character of Ferris Bueller, a teen who devises a complex plan to skip school to enjoy a day of adolescent hi-jinks with his friends. His reasoning is this: "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."
