Village Art Club presents 2015 Spring Members Exhibits Awards

The Village Art Club of Rockville Centre presented 19 Awards to winning members at Rockville Centre Public Library on Saturday, May 2nd.

The 2015 Spring Membership Exhibit of the Village Art Club of Rockville Centre (VAC) concluded on Saturday, May 2 with a reception and awards presentation in the meeting rooms at Rockville Centre Public Library.  in The exhibit was judged by noted Long Island artist William A Dodge from the faculty of the Visual Communications Department at SUNY Farmingdale. VAC artist John Markey (photo) won an Award of Excellence for his pastel titled “Dark Vases”. Two other Awards of Excellence were presented: Trudy Santoemma for her pastel portrait, “Nobody Knows”; and Stan Swenson won his in the miniature category for the watercolor scene, “Fly Over Field Six”. The exhibit was the Club’s largest in six years. 43 artists participated, entering more than 75 works. 19 prizes were awarded in three classes, Excellence, Merit and Third Prizes. Additionally, Anthony Casaccio won the Club’s “Newcomer” Award and Joanne Biller was voted the VAC Members Choice Award by the reception’
