This Week In Rockville Centre: Man Assaults 90-Year-Old, Man Found Dead On North Village Avenue, PD Says

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — The Rockville Centre Police Department released its crime and safety report Monday, detailing nine items from the previous week. The items listed are as follows:

On June 22 at 3:28 p.m., a Greystone Road woman said someone had made fraudulent wire transfers from her checking account, police said.

On June 23 at 12:53 p.m., a Maine Avenue man said he had been the passenger in an Uber that was struck in a hit-and-run with another vehicle, police said.

On June 24 at 1:22 a.m., Rockville Centre police responded to an Olive Court home after receiving a report of a homicide there; the call was later revealed to be a hoax, police said.

On June 24 at 5:12 p.m., 51-year-old Rockville Centre resident Damion Prevo was arrested after striking a 90-year-old in the head, police said. Prevo pleaded not guilty to an assault charge and is due back in court July 1, court documents show.

On June 25 at 2:07 p.m., an Oceanside Road recreation center employee said four “youths” were lighting fireworks near the soccer field, police said.

On June 25 at 4:23 p.m., 53-year-old Bohemia resident Anthony Cuocco was found to be driving with a suspended license, police said. Cuocco was arrested and charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and traffic offenses, police said.

On June 25 at 7:45 p.m., a Massapequa man said his daughter had left her iPad at a Sunrise Highway Store, and that he was able to track the iPad’s location, police said. Despite being able to track the iPad, the man was unable to recover it, police said.

On June 27 at 9:30 a.m., a Reid Avenue woman said her car had been keyed while parked in front of her house, police said.

On June 28 at 2:44 p.m., a 68-year-old man was found dead in his North Village Avenue apartment with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said. The man was found by a roommate, police said.
