This Week In Rockville Centre: Man Driving With 35 License Suspensions, Grocery Store Larceny, Police Say

The Rockville Centre Police Department released its weekly crime report Monday.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY. — The Rockville Centre Police Department released its crime report for the previous week Monday, reporting eight items between Mar. 9 and Mar. 16. The items listed are as follows:

On Monday, Mar. 9, a Freeport resident reported that her passport had gone missing from her storage unit on Merrick Road, police said. Police did not report any arrests or charges related to the missing passport.

On Tuesday, Mar. 10 at 10:45 a.m., police said a car hit a light pole on Front Street and knocked it over.

On Wednesday, Mar. 11 at 3 p.m., an Oceanside resident reported a motor vehicle accident on Peninsula Boulevard in which the other party had fled the scene, police said.

On Wednesday, Mar. 11 at 5:40 p.m., a Rockville Centre resident reported that she had sent money via Zelle to a Facebook marketplace seller in an attempt to buy a gold necklace but never received the necklace, police said.

On Thursday, Mar. 12 at 12:13 p.m., an employee at the Citizen’s Bank on Sunrise Highway reported that the bank’s drive-up ATM had had its canopy damaged by a vehicle, police said.

On Thursday, Mar. 12 at 8:24 p.m., an employee of the Sunrise Highway Speedway station reported that a man had entered the store, taken three cases of beer and left without paying for the beer, police said. Police did not say what kind of beer the man had taken.

On Saturday, Mar. 14 at 9:11 a.m., 36-year-old Riverhead resident Emanual Figueroa-Veliz was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and other traffic violations, police said. Police said the arrest was made after Figueroa-Veliz was found driving with thirty-five suspensions on his driver’s license.

On Sunday, Mar. 15 at 4:18 p.m., 64-year-old Elmont resident Debra Barrow was arrested and charged with petit larceny after taking things from a grocery store on Sunrise Highway, police said. Police did not say what Barrow was charged with taking.
