• Middle Island man killed in Rocky Point wrong-way crash, police say (newsday.com) — A driver was killed Wednesday afternoon after veering into oncoming traffic on Rocky Point Yaphank Road, prompting an ongoing Suffolk County police investigation. The Middle Island man's Lexus struck a Jeep, whose Port Jefferson driver suffered minor injuries. Detectives are asking anyone in Rocky Point who witnessed the crash to contact the Seventh Squad with information.
