• Suffolk seeks to move millions for killed Ronkonkoma convention center to other big-ticket projects (newsday.com) — Suffolk County is moving to redirect about $50 million once reserved for a proposed Ronkonkoma convention center toward countywide infrastructure and tourism projects instead. With the Midway Crossing plan dead and no new convention proposal in sight, lawmakers are eyeing bridges, canals, coastal resiliency, and museums while slightly trimming Discover Long Island's share of the growing hotel and short‑term rental tax revenue.
