RYE BROOK, NY — A suspect has been arrested in connection to a burglary at a Westchester County landmark.
The Rye Brook Police Department announced on Thursday that on March 23, officers responded to a report of a commercial burglary that had taken place at an office on Westchester Avenue.
Police determined that around $15,000 worth of electronics had been stolen during the overnight hours.
After a weeks‑long investigation, on April 21, Rye Brook Police Department detectives arrested a 19‑year‑old Port Chester resident in connection with the burglary.
He was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree grand larceny, third-degree criminal mischief, and third-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
Rye Brook police say that detectives recovered 19 cellphones, six laptops, and several other electronic devices believed to have been taken during the incident.
The suspect was arraigned in Rye Town Court and released on an appearance ticket.
"Great work by all Officers involved and the Detective bureau." the Rye Brook Police Department said in statement posted on social media.
