Rye Metro-North: Bronx Woman Indicted for Falsely Reporting Bomb Threat, ROR'd (talkofthesound.com) — A Metro-North train was stopped and fully evacuated at the Rye station after a Bronx rider allegedly sent false 911 texts claiming a man onboard had a bomb. No threat was found, but prosecutors say the hoax disrupted hundreds of commutes and the rider now faces a felony charge in Westchester court.
   

2. Rye Girls Soccer Beats Class AAA Power Shenendehowa on Last-Second Goal (ryerecord.com) — Rye High's girls soccer team opened its season with a dramatic 3-2 win over Class AAA powerhouse Shenendehowa, capped by senior Charlotte Keenan's last-second goal. Keenan scored three times over the opening weekend, and the Garnets now head into a tough six-game road stretch, including a rematch this week with Albertus Magnus, the only team they beat last season.
   

3. Rye Home Sales: July (ryerecord.com) — If you're watching Rye's housing market, July brought several notable sales, from a three-bedroom on Allendale Drive closing at $2.35 million to larger homes on Mendota Avenue and Wainwright Street topping $3.2 million. Addresses across Valleyview, Trails End, Grace Church, Douglas Circle, Ridgeland, and Colby show strong demand and rising long-term values for local homeowners and buyers.
   

4. Wall Street Journal Writer John Michael Clarke Jr. Passes (myrye.com) — A former longtime Rye resident, John Michael Clarke Jr. has died at 55 after a wide-ranging journalism career that included work for the Wall Street Journal, New York Post, and New York Times. Raised in Indian Village and Loudon Woods after his family moved to Rye, he carried those early connections into a life spent writing, traveling, and cherishing time with family in Maine and beyond.
