UPDATE: Suffolk Police ID Man Shot To Death

A group of people were in a fight in a parking lot when at least one person fired shots at abut 3 a.m., Suffolk cops say.

FARMINGVILLE, NY — A shooting left one man dead and another two wounded in Farmingville early Sunday morning, Suffolk police said.

A group of people were involved in a fight in the parking lot of Tiffany Plaza on Portion Road when at least one person fired shots from a gun at about 3 a.m., according to police.

Jorge Mauricio Sevilla-Barrara, 28, of Farmingville, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Two other men — aged 21 and 22 years old — were transported in private vehicles to local hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. Their names were not released.

There have been no arrests.

Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call the at 631-852m-6392 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.

All calls will be kept confidential, police said.
