2 Teens Arrested For Robbery: Brookhaven Town Police Blotter

Police incidents and arrests from around the township.

BROOKHAVEN TOWN, NY — Two teenage boys were rounded up on robbery charges after Suffolk police say they threatened another teen with a knife and stole a cell phone in Coram on Wednesday.

The robbery took place on Dustan Place just before 2 p.m., police said. A 14-year-old and a 16-year-old were charged with first-degree robbery, according to police. The 14-year-old was additionally charged with second-degree menacing, police said.

It is unclear if the victim was harmed in the incident. No further information was released.

BELLPORT

  • Two Bellport men were busted for breaking into a business in Medford on Aug. 18 and making off with three motorcycles, including a Honda and two Yamahas, police said.

Raequawn Campbell, 26, and Rayshon Siders, 24, took the motorcycles from a building behind Insurance Auto Auction at about 3 a.m., according to police. The pair were charged with third-degree burglary, police said.

CORAM

  • A Hi-point 9mm rifle was found during a traffic stop in Coram on Aug. 10, police said.

Jamie Baer, 37, of Medford was arrested at West Yaphank Road and Murray Lane just before 1 a.m., according to police. He was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-and fourth-degree criminal possession of a narcotic drug, and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.

MASTIC

  • Geovanny Saraguru, 26, of Mastic was arrested in Mastic and charged with first-degree sexual abuse on Aug. 14. Police did not release any further information.
  • A Tonopan Street resident was arrested after police say he pulled his penis out and stuck his tongue out at a person at the side of a house on Aug. 11.

Dominick Scioli, 56, of Mastic was charged with lewdness, police said. Further information was not released.

MASTIC BEACH

  • A Mastic Beach man was caught with four stolen boats on Aug. 17, police said.

Louis Bieler, 42, had at least one unidentified boat and a trailer, as well as a Boston Whaler, Scout Boat, and Aqua Sport Boat, according to police. He was charged with four counts of third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, police said.

MEDFORD

  • A Ridge man under investigation was caught with cocaine and a loaded handgun inside of his 2014 BMW during a traffic stop on Aug. 19, police said.

Quashawn Kenney, 22, was stopped just before 5 p.m., and was found not only with the gun but an ammo clip and over four ounces of cocaine, according to police. Police said Kenney, who was pulled over as part of a classified investigation, tried to run from police and reversed the BMW, striking a police car, and then struck the bumper of another vehicle.

He was slapped with multiple charges including second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, obstructing governmental administration, as well as second-and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said. Kenney, who has a prior felony conviction, was also charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, according to police.

Kenney was additionally charged with third-and fourth-degree criminal mischief, police said.

MIDDLE ISLAND

  • A person cutting firewood was injured at Cathedral Pines County Park in Middle Island on July 28, according to the Suffolk County Parks Department.

The person was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries, a spokeswoman said. She could not confirm an initial report that a man suffered a severe laceration to his hand and that he was taken by helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital. She did not respond to a reporter's query as to whether the incident involved a county employee.

  • A Lindenhurst man was caught with a loaded handgun during a traffic stop on Heather Court on Thursday, police said.

Jesse St. Clair, 33, was pulled over at about 11:15 a.m. and found with a loaded handgun inside of his 2010 GMC Pickup truck, according to police. He was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

MORICHES

  • A Coram man broke into a home on Misty Pond Drive through a broken sliding door at about 5:30 p.m., on Tuesday, police said.

It is not clear if anyone was home at the time, or if anything was taken. Police charged Angelo Moreno, 22, with second-degree burglary, according to a spokeswoman.

SHIRLEY

  • A taxi driver was threatened at knifepoint on Robinwood Drive in Shirley early on Thursday morning, police said.

The driver picked up a fare at about 4 a.m. and the person threatened the driver with a knife, but it is not clear if anything was taken, according to police. The taxi driver was not injured, police said. The suspect remains at large, according to police.

  • A homeless man hit someone in the head with a gardening tool in a fight on Montauk Highway at about 7 p.m. on Thursday, police said. It is unclear if the victim required medical assistance. Police charged Gerald Pannehurst, 46, with assault in connection with the incident.

STONY BROOK

  • Someone entered a Millbrook Road home through a shattered rear window at about 2 p.m. on Aug. 20 and went through the home, but it is not clear if anything was taken.
