3 Firefighters Injured In Long Island Home Blaze: Police
An off-duty Farmingville firefighter spotted the fire as he was driving by a home just after 1 a.m., police said.
FARMINGVILLE, NY — Three firefighters were injured in a blaze that broke out at a Long Island home early Sunday morning, Suffolk police said.
An off-duty firefighter from the Farmingville Fire Department noticed the fire just after 1 a.m. as he was driving past a home on Woodycrest Drive in Farmingville, police said, adding that he stopped and went inside the home and was able to get the residents to safety.
Farmingville firefighters responded to extinguish the blaze, and three ended up sustaining “non-life-threatening injuries” and were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment, police said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by Arson Section detectives, police said.
