3 People Rescued After Sailboat Overturns On Long Island Lake
Lifeguards were able to paddle out and bring an adult and two children to safety at about 6 p.m., cops say.
LAKE RONKONKOMA, NY — Three people were rescued on Lake Ronkonkoma after a sailboat overturned on Sunday, Suffolk police said.
The sailboat, which had an adult and two children on board, overturned at about 6 p.m., and Town of Islip lifeguards were able to paddle out to them on kayaks and bring them to shore safely, according to a police spokeswoman.
The trio were evaluated by medical personnel at the scene, police said.
