HOLBROOK, NY — Arson Squad detectives are investigating an incident in which two people were hurt when a tank was damaged, causing an explosion at a recycling facility in Holbrook, on Tuesday morning, Suffolk police said.
Employees were working at Arrow Metal and E-Waste Recycling on Lincoln Avenue, when the tank was damaged at around 7:30 a.m., according to police.
It is not known what kind of gas was in the tank, a police spokeswoman said.
The two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and one was taken to the hospital, according to police.
A man who answered the phone at the facility told Patch, "Everybody's good."
"It was just an accident," he said. "There's really not much to it."
No further information was immediately available from the police.
