FARMINGVILLE, NY — Arson Squad detectives are investigating a 14-alarm blaze in which a firefighter was hurt in Farmingville on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
It broke out at the Cleveland Avenue home at around 12:45 p.m., and when first responders arrived, the house "was fully engulfed," Suffolk police said.
Once the flames were extinguished by the Selden Fire Department, the home appeared "uninhabitable," but detectives believe the incident to be non-criminal, according to authorities.
No one was inside the home, Suffolk County Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Services said.
A firefighter was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
A total of 14 different departments and seven ambulance companies responded to the fire, FRES said.
