Firefighters Called To Olive Garden At Centereach Mall After Fire Breaks Out On Roof: Police

CENTEREACH, NY — A fire broke out on the roof of Olive Garden in the Centereach Mall on Monday afternoon, drawing area firefighters, Suffolk police said.

The restaurant's manager called 911 to report smoke in the building at around 12:45 p.m., and the Centereach Fire Department ended up finding an active fire on the roof within the building's HVAC system, according to police.

The fire was extinguished without causing any damage to the restaurant, and no one was hurt, police said.

The Brookhaven Town Fire Marshal's office was also called to the scene.
