Huntington Station Man Was High Behind Wheel In Crash That Seriously Hurt Motorcyclist In Holbrook: Police

It happened on Nicholl's Road at around 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Suffolk police say.

HOLTSVILLE, NY — A Huntington Station man was driving high behind the wheel of a Tesla when he was involved in a crash that seriously hurt a motorcyclist in Holbrook on Tuesday night, Suffolk police said.

A 24-year-old from Holtsville was operating a 2017 Suzuki motorcycle southbound on Nicolls Road, between
Greenbelt Parkway and Route 27, when he collided with a southbound 2023 Tesla at around 11:15 p.m., according to police.

The motorcyclist was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, but the Tesla's driver, a 37-year-old from Huntington Station, was not hurt, police said.

The Huntington Station man was arrested and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, and he was held overnight for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Wednesday, according to police.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks, police said.
