SELDEN, NY — A Jeep caught fire after striking a trailer being pulled by a pickup truck in Selden on Tuesday night, Suffolk police said.
A 50-year-old Selden man was driving a 2000 pickup truck with a trailer attached eastbound on Middle Country Road, when a 2014 Jeep driven by a 64-year-old South Setauket woman pulled out of the parking lot of a strip mall and struck the trailer just before 8 p.m., according to police.
The Jeep caught on fire, and a local fire department responded to extinguish the flames, police said.
There were no injuries reported to police or citations issued.
