RONKONKOMA, NY — A man was hurt in a crash on Thursday night in Ronkonkoma, Suffolk police said.
A 2012 Ford sedan was traveling on Express Drive South in the right-hand lane at around 8:30 a.m., when the driver disobeyed a pavement marker, directing all vehicles in the lane to turn southbound onto Ronkonkoma Avenue, according to police.
The Ford continued straight and collided with a 2019 Volkswagen sedan, traveling eastbound on Express Drive South in the Middle lane, where there was a pavement marker, directing vehicles in the lane to either continue straight or turn southbound onto Ronkonkoma Avenue, police said.
The Volkswagen turned southbound and was struck by the Ford, according to police.
The driver of the Volkswagen, a 52-year-old man from Northport, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The driver of the Ford, a 55-year-old man from Central Islip, was cited, according to police.
