AMVETS Post 48 Holds Annual Celebration
Local leaders turn out to congratulate group on advocacy for veterans causes.
The AMVETS Post 48 in Ronkonkoma, a veterans advocacy group, recently held its AMVETS Day of Celebration with a picnic-type gathering for all Post members and their family.
The event was attended by Kevin Lavalle, legislative aide to Suffolk County Legislator Tom Muratore. The Day of Celebration is AMVETS' way of reflecting on the previous year's accomplishments and experiences that have supported veterans causes.
“Our veterans continue to be the backbone of our community," Leg. Muratore stated in a release. "It is my pleasure to congratulate Commander Pat Mitchell and AMVETS Post 48 for their accomplishments, and as always, express my appreciation to all veterans past and present."
