Suspects Surrender After Barricading Themselves in Suffolk County Home: Police
The situation may be connected to a home invasion that occurred hours earlier, police say.

UPDATE 7:45 p.m.:
Police have released the following details: As part of an ongoing investigation, police responded to 3 Parnet Court in Selden at approximately 4:05 a.m. At the time of police arrival, two individuals exited the home but there were an unknown number of people remaining in the home, including a child. The Hostage Negotiation Team responded and used an LRAD (long range acoustical device) to attempt to communicate with the people inside. The occupants did not comply. The decision was made to enter the home. Upon entering, officers located a 2-year-old boy immediately and removed him from the home. ES officers searched the home and found one person in a first floor bedroom. They then located two other people in a crawl space on the second floor. Due to the small size of the space, two ES officers removed equipment and entered the crawl space while a third ES officer broke through sheetrock on the opposite end to reach the suspects. Two of the people in the home, a man and woman, were arrested on outstanding warrants from Family Court. The third suspect’s charges were not released. No names or addresses of the suspects were released. CPS was notified in regards to the child.
There was police activity earlier in the morning at a home on Chestnut Ave in Farmingville, however, we did not release why police were there and if the two incidents were related.
