Back To School Drive Launches In Brookhaven Town

It will will run Friday through Aug. 27 at various locations, including Town Hall in Farmingville.

FARMINGVILLE, NY —The Town of Brookhaven Youth Bureau’s INTERFACE Back to School Drive collected enough supplies to help 1,200 children last year, and officials are hoping to top that this season.

During the drive, which will run from Friday through Aug. 27, pens, calculators, backpacks, notebooks, lunch boxes, folders, glue, and binders will be collected at various locations, including town hall. The supplies will be distributed to needy families who otherwise would be unable to provide them to their children before school begins, according to a news release.

INTERFACE is a partnership of individuals, generous corporate neighbors, and the town “united in a shared effort” to help Brookhaven’s “less fortunate residents all year round,” officials stated in a news release.
