Back To School In Sachem: Here's The 2019-20 Calendar

LAKE RONKONKOMA, NY — Summer vacation isn't over for more than a month, but it's never too early to start thinking about the upcoming school year. Schools in the Sachem Central School District are back in session on Sept. 4, but there are only 17 days until the first day off.

Here's the school calendar, including important dates, such as winter and spring recess, federal and religious holidays and test dates.

In other words, here are the dates to remember:

• Sept. 3: First day for teachers.
• Sept. 4: First day for students.
• Sept. 30: Rosh Hashanah (No School)
• Oct. 1: Rosh Hashanah (No School)
• Oct. 9: Yom Kippur (No School)
• Oct. 14: Columbus Day (No School)
• Nov. 5: Election Day (No School)
• Nov. 11: Veterans Day (No School)
• Nov. 28-29: Thanksgiving Recess (No School)

• Jan. 1-3: Winter Recess (No School)
