Here are the top stories in Sachem today:
- Beautiful start to the work week ahead. Temperatures will be in the mid 60s to start off your work week, with sunny skies and no rain until Thursday. Both Thursday and Friday bring a chance of showers but other than that, it's a beautiful fall week on Long Island. (Weather.com)
- Check out all the biggest stories from the week. Each week we bring you Patch Week in Review, which compiles newsworthy stories into one article for your reading ease. Click the link to see everything that went on throughout Long Island during the week! (Patch.com)
- ICYMI: Town of Brookhaven proposes a 1.92% property tax increase. The increase is in the town's 2023 budget and does not include any change to services. The tentative operating budget "fully funds all constituent services, provides for escalating price increases in commodities, is conservative in its revenue projections, and preserves Fund Balance levels in the major tax districts through structural balance," officials said. See highlights of the purposed budget in the link. (Sachem Patch)
