Ron Paul: And His Proper Course of Action
What should Ron Paul do in this election. Will he get elected? Is third party an option?

This next topic is one that I will tread carefully, for the followers and true believers of Ron Paul are very animate and loyal. My personal view of Ron Paul is that he is a very consistent candidate who does an excellent job trying to protect our constitution. If you're looking for a candidate who follows the Constitution, doesn’t waver in his views, and supports pulling out of foreign countries and worrying about our own country first, then Ron Paul is your guy.
Personally, I worked for Gov. Mitt Romney in the past primary in New Hampshire and I got first-hand experience dealing with both Paul ideas and Paul supporters. Paul is a pioneer for new ideas, and frankly no Republican or Democrat running can compare to him. Before the economy burst, Paul knew it was going to happen and was quoted saying it countless times. I have a close friend who is an avid Paul supporter and when Paul said that the price of gold was going to sky rocket, he bought gold. Today my friend is now a wealthier man for doing so. Ron is an idealistic candidate, unfortunately to me that’s all he is.
I do not believe in all of his ideas, such as his foreign policy, but this article's purpose is not to argue policy. Many of his supporters believe Paul is very electable, but I unfortunately have to disagree. In almost every poll, Paul does not fare well against Obama in the national race. Perhaps it is because he is not getting fair media attention, but that is an argument for another day. Many supporters argue he would draw in both Republican and Democrats. The other side to that is Paul is just so different that in fact he would not. Many of his policies seem to many politicians too drastic, and I don’t believe they would get passed through congress. Perhaps if his supporters voted in congressmen and woman who shared similar ideas he could institute his grand plans and turn this country around. Unfortunately though Congress is what it is, and I believe nothing would get done with our current officials in office. I do believe though that Ron Paul is definitely getting the conversation started on some new ideas, which is getting people thinking.

The one bright light at the end of the tunnel is Ron Paul’s son, Sen. Rand Paul. Rand has many similar ideas to his father, with some slight variation. Rand considered running in the 2012 election, but only if his father was not running. Ron Paul is getting older and this is most likely his last swipe at the GOP nomination.
I believe though he is laying the ground work for his son in this election. It seems inevitable by now that Ron will not win this nomination, but by getting his ideas out there, perhaps the country will be ready for Rand when his time to run comes around. This is one of the main reasons I believe Ron Paul will not run as a third party candidate in this election. He does not want to upset the GOP establishment, because he hopes to garner their support when his son runs in the upcoming years. Frankly, this strategy is genius, and just might work especially if Obama wins a second term, and the GOP begins looking for a new and inspirational candidate in the 2016 elections.
