SYAG Lacrosse Weekend Roundup
Scores, Highlights, and Notes from Sachem's SYAG Lacrosse games.
1st Grade vs SSC:
The SYAG first grade lacrosse team played in their first game of the spring season. For most players, it was their first game ever! The boys hustled and played extremely hard. The team showed great improvement from the first half to the second half of the game. SYAG got goals from Nick Trotta and Zack Marco. Matthew Rotolo made 6 saves, and Zachary Marsh, Gavin Brooks, and AJ Carlo supported him with great defensive plays. A great effort by all SYAG and SSC players. Coach Josh and Coach Tom are proud of their efforts.
2nd Grade vs West Babylon:
The 2nd grade team dropped their game at West Babylon by a score of 6-2. Matthew McCarthy put in another solid game in net to keep the team close throughout the game. Stephen Kirk and Kyle Price tallied a goal each for the Saints, while Justin Ortiz made some solid plays in the offensive zone. The team had a tough first half, but turned it around in the second, as they began to move the ball around, and tighten up defense. Unfortunately they could not overcome the lead West Babylon had already taken.
3rd Grade vs Islip Gold:
The Sachem boys played a hard game. They came out slow but after being down 4-1 in the 1st quarter, they came alive and looked like the team they were in the 1st game. They started moving the ball around and had some great plays. However they fell short losing the game 8-5. The coaches were proud of the way they played after putting in some plays during the last couple of practices the kids were able to execute them well. The game was there to win and was a lot closer then it shows. Brandon Pazienza had some great saves in the net. Till next week enjoy and be safe.
