The Student Perspective: Third Time's a Charm?
Sachem North advances to the Suffolk County Championship against William Floyd for the third straight year after a 57-6 victory over Sachem East today.

As Sachem North's Dalton Crossan ran his way to the endzone a remarkable five times at Fred Fusaro Alumni Stadium, a familiar feeling undoubtedly began to creep its way along the sidelines of and into the stands of Sachem North. For the third straight year, North will be returning to the Suffolk County championship at Stony Brook University, which will take place next Sunday at 4 p.m.
This comes after an amazing 57-6 victory over sister school Sachem East, a game in which both sides of the stadium were completely filled with people from all around the district.
While the game was originally dubbed Nor'Easter 2011, in retrospect, it probably should have been called Hurricane Dalton, as Crossan aided in North's breaking of the school record for most points scored in a game with 57. Of course, while the score may show otherwise, this game was still a great symbol of how the Sachem community can come together and show support for both teams. Congratulations to Sachem East on their great season under first year head coach Mark Wojciechowski, going 5-3 in the regular season and making it to the semifinals after their thrilling win over West Islip last week. And, congratulations to Sachem North and head coach Dave Falco, winning their third straight regular season Division I championship and advancing to the Suffolk County championship for the third straight year.

The last two seasons North has lost to William Floyd on this stage, but the Flaming Arrows will look to finally grab that elusive championship with a victory next week. Will the third time be a charm? Only time will tell.
