Donna Lent Reelected To Brookhaven Town Clerk Post

FARMINGVILE, NY — Brookhaven Town Clerk Donna Lent has emerged the winner in her race for another term as she faced challenger Ira Costell, according to unofficial results from the Suffolk County Board of Elections.

Lent emerged the winner, garnering 54,085 votes to Costell's 25,546, with 291 districts reporting. There were 30 write-ins.

Lent, an Independence Party member who also ran on the Republican and Conservative lines, was seeking her third term, while Costell, who manages a detox facility, is new to politics.

Absentee ballots still must be counted.
