BROOKHAVEN TOWN, NY — Suffolk's first responders were busy last week, according to the Suffolk County Police Department and other first responders’ logs.
Here's a snapshot of some incidents and arrests:
BELLPORT

- ShotSpotter was activated at Hoffman Avenue in Bellport at around 12:20 a.m. on Monday, but it was all quiet upon police arrival.
EAST SETAUKET
- An 18-year-old East Setauket woman was charged with unlawful fleeing a police officer in Centereach on July 13, police said. No further information was available.

- A Coram woman, 57, was charged with exposure of a person after police say she was found lying naked in the grass by Coram Commons on July 15.
- Yvonne Justice, 48, of Gordon Heights was charged with second-degree burglary on July 15 after police say she accessed an unlocked shed and swiped a machete and other items from a home in Gordon Heights. Justice pleaded not guilty at her arraignment in First District Court in Central Islip, and a temporary order of protection was issued, online court records show.
LAKE RONKONKOMA
- A person was taken to a local hospital after police say they were jumped on Old Portion Road in Lake Ronkonkoma on Friday afternoon. The person did not wish to pursue charges, police said.
NORTH BELLPORT
- ShotSpotter was activated for multiple gunshots at Patchogue and Michigan avenues in North Bellport at around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, but it was for a possible vehicle backfire.
MASTIC BEACH
- A man on Jefferson Drive in Mastic Beach was experiencing pain in his ribs from a previous incident, and was taken to NYU Langone Hospital- Suffolk in East Patchogue for evaluation at around 11:45 p.m. on Monday, police said.
- The Mastic Beach Fire Department extinguished a fire in a kitchen on East Parkview in Mastic Beach on Monday at around 1 p.m. , police said. The fire appeared to be caused by cooking oil on a stove, according to police.
MIDDLE ISLAND
- Jephthah Israel, 32, of Coram was charged with third-degree, second-degree menacing, and child endangerment on July 17, police said. Israel struck a person in the face, threatened them with a knife, and took the person's phone from a location in Middle Island, according to police. Israel pleaded not guilty, and a temporary order of protection was issued at their arraignment in First District Court in Central Islip.
PATCHOGUE
- A person told police that they were trying to get their phone back inside Birdie's on North Ocean Avenue in Patchogue, when they were pushed by a bouncer at around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday.
- A woman went to the hospital after she was attacked by a man and forced to the ground outside of the Meetball Place on Main Street in Patchogue at around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, police said.
SELDEN
- A 36-year-old Selden man was charged with exposure of a person after police say he was caught urinating on Imperial Drive in Selden on Saturday.
SHIRLEY
- Robert Coleman, 34, of Mastic Beach, was charged with third-degree robbery after police say he pushed someone and swiped some clothes at around 6:30 p.m. on July 13.
- A cab driver reported a woman for not paying her fare at a location on William Floyd Parkway in North Shirley on July 15, police said.
