BROOKHAVEN TOWN, NY — Suffolk's first responders were busy last week, according to the Suffolk County Police Department's logs.
Here's a snapshot of some incidents and arrests:
CENTEREACH

- A Bay Shore man was arrested in Centereach after police say he threatened someone with a hammer at a home on March 19.
- Manuel Aquino, 66, of Centereach, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a felony, after his Mercedes crashed into a parked Toyota on Eastwood Drive in Centereach on March 20, police said. Aquino was previously convicted of DWI, police said. No injuries were reported.
MILLER PLACE
- A woman reported to police that another woman, who was driving erratically, displayed to her what appeared to be a kitchen knife on Route 25A in Miller Place on March 8.
PORT JEFFERSON

- A person was struck on the head with a weapon in an assault on Main Street in Port Jefferson at around 3 a.m. on March 16, police said. They were taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
- A Port Jefferson man was arrested after police say he punched a person over 65 years old, causing a fracture, on March 20. Antwan Watson, 33, was charged with first-and second-degree assault, police said. The incident happened on Oakland Avenue in Port Jefferson at around 9 p.m. on March 20, according to police. He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in First District Court in Central Islip, and a temporary order of protection was issued, online court records show. His bail was set at $50,000, $100,000 insured bond, or $500,000 partially secured surety bond, the records show.
SOUND BEACH
- A 45-year-old man from Sound Beach was charged with driving while intoxicated on March 17 after his vehicle crashed into Sound Beach Wings, police said. No injuries were reported.
