A snapshot of some recent police activity in the town.

BROOKHAVEN TOWN, NY — The reports below are excerpts from Suffolk police's 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th precincts that comprise Brookhaven Town.

Criminal charges do not indicate a conviction.

BELLPORT

  • A 2014 Kia Rondo was reported stolen from a parking lot on South Country Road in Bellport at 10 a.m. on Friday.

EAST PATCHOGUE

  • A 21-year-old East Patchogue man was charged with second-degree rape on April 22, police said. Billy Luefranco was arrested in East Patchogue, and according to the charge, the victim was under 15 years old. Police do not release details about sexual crimes. A temporary order of protection was issued, according to online court documents.

HOLBROOK

  • A 2016 excavator was stolen from a construction site on Broadway in Holbrook sometime after April 6.

MASTIC

  • A man was taken to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue after he was beaten in Mastic early last Sunday morning, police said. Police were alerted to a fight at the fire department's Mastic Road location at about 1:16 a.m. by a 911 caller — one of two calls about the incident that morning — saying that three men were fighting, police said. At least one man reported being punched about his head and body, and he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. It is not clear where at the location the fight took place. Police received at least one other 911 call about the incident, however, that was called in about 45 minutes later, records show. No arrests have been made. Additional details were not available.

MASTIC BEACH

  • A resident of Huguenot Drive in Mastic Beach was robbed of a 2013 Hyundai Sonata after two people he did not know went inside of his home and displayed what appeared to be a gun on Wednesday night, police said. The person was not injured during the robbery and alerted police at about 11 p.m. No arrests were made.
  • Sometime between 3 p.m. on April 27 and 3 p.m. on April 28, a rear window of a home under construction on Cranberry Drive in Mastic Beach was broken, then cans of paint were opened and spilled inside of the home resulting in property damage.

MIDDLE ISLAND

  • A Ridge man was arrested on multiple drug charges after police say he was caught with fentanyl inside of a 2014 Chevy Cruze during a traffic stop on Middle Country Road in Middle Island on Friday. Robert Jimenez, 27, had over eight ounces of crack cocaine, as well as fentanyl, and a digital scale consistent with drug sales, which were later found in a search of his car at the 6th Precinct in Selden, police said. He was charged with second, third, fourth, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, according to police. Jimenez was released on his own recognizance, according to online court documents.

PORT JEFFERSON

  • Obscene language was found spraypainted on a fence on Midland Avenue in Port Jefferson at 8:35 a.m. on Monday.

ROCKY POINT

  • A Rocky Point man was charged with assault in connection with an incident back in October in which he threw an egg at a person, injuring them, police said. The egg Schweizer threw hit the person in the trachea and they were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said police, adding that Donald Schweizer, 63, was arrested in Rocky Point on Friday. No further details were available.

SHIRLEY

  • A doorknob was broken and cash was stolen from the register at Pizza Hut on William Floyd Parkway at 11 p.m. on Thursday.
